New Zealand Possum Fibre is the newest rare natural fibre in the world. It is one of the finest and softest fibres that nature produces, yet it has amazing wearing characteristics.
Possum fibre is hollow, so this garment is very light, but extremely warm for its weight. Blended with Merino wool, gives possum strength. Possum fibre is only available from New Zealand where the possum runs wild in the native forests.
The New Zealand Brushtail Possum is the size of a large cat and has thick luxurious fur. About eighty million of these nocturnal marsupials cause enormous ecological damage to our forests and native birds, including our national icon, the Kiwi.
